Psychological Services
Dr. Perry-Goffney realizes that seeking out therapy can be anxiety provoking. It is important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable discussing your concerns with during the initial phase of therapy. During the initial phase, Dr. Perry-Goffney attempts to orient the client to therapy and the expectations that the client should have, as well as the expectations inherent in therapy. During our first few sessions, we will look at the factors that have brought you into treatment and establish your goals. At this time I would provide psychoeducation about the factors that may have brought you to treatment, and begin to identify the best interventions for your particular needs. The initial goal would be to form a therapeutic alliance in order for us to be able to work fully towards accomplishing your therapy goals.

Clinical Supervision/Consultation
Clinical supervision is one of the most important aspects of being trained as a clinical psychologist. During clinical supervision one receives support, both positive feedback and constructive criticism, as well as mentoring. I am available for clinical supervision and client-centered consultation. Both can be ongoing or a one-time meeting (for example, to help with a specific issue).
